Matt Bucklin is from Northeast Harbor, Maine. He grew up working in a family owned construction, C.E. Bucklin & Sons., Inc, company that had been in the family for 5 generations.
After graduating from Colby College, he worked in finance in New York City. While there he discovered his passion for entrepreneurship and operations.
Matt tried launching his own product in 2010, Quit Tea, a herbal tea to help smokers replace their habit, based on his own theory of behavioral dependency. The product was a success and allowed him to pursue his consumer smoking cessation and wellness company full time.
Since selling The Quit Company, LLC in 2019, he has been involved with multiple startups in healthcare and health tech mostly, and earned and MBA from the Yale School of Management, before launching his search fund, Valley Cove Capital in the summer of 2022.
